The first match SB-1 had this weekend was on June 9, against Tarantula. The two men went at it in Hurst, Texas at the Matrix Teen Club for Acts Wrestling Alliance.
The match started off heated as the two cruiserweights were chest to chest talking trash. SB-1’s shove was met by one from Tarantula, and then it was on. Tarantula got the upper hand first with a barrage of dropkicks, spin-kicks, and armdrags. Soon after, in an attempt to backdrop SB-1, Tarantula got pummeled with the Tornado DDT. From there it was your hyphenated hero on top, working the arm of Tarantula. Things got dirty as SB-1 tied the man’s arm up in the ropes and tested the referee’s patience. At one point, he tied Tarantula’s arm up in the second rope and nailed it with a Mexican dropkick.
But Tarantula wouldn’t give up so easily, as he rallied back with his unique offense. He almost nailed a springboard moonsault, but SB-1 ducked just in time and proceeded to nearly decapitate the stunned Tarantula with a clothesline. SB-1 thought it was time to go, so he ascended the turnbuckles and went for his Flying Forearm…and it landed! In a crucial error, SB-1 chose not to go for the pin, but instead to drag the lifeless Tarantula to the corner to finish him off. Tarantula recovered quickly and set SB-1 up on the ropes after a few blows to the midsection, and climbed the turnbuckle onto SB-1! It looked as though Tarantula might attempt a superplex, but SB-1 shoved him off. Tarantula backflipped to his feet and caught SB-1 with a vicious dropkick just as SB-1 was coming off the ropes with a double-axehandle.
Both wrestlers looked worn out, but somehow made it to their feet before the referee’s 10-count. Tarantula assaulted SB-1 with chops and kicks before shooting him off, but SB-1 still had the resiliency to reverse the Irish whip and cinch Tarantula in for the Punk-Out. Tarantula elbowed his way out of the finisher and attempted his patented TKO Drop, but SB-1 had a counter of his own as he hit a Punk-Out from nowhere! SB-1 made the cover and it was all over for the Tarantula.
On June 10, SB-1 also took on Scott Murdoch in Marshall, Texas at the ACW Arena.
